Amish is an attorney and a CPA, and has been practicing law for 25 years in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Bankruptcy, and general business law, representing clients from all walks of life.

Amish has been a resident of Queens County for over 40 years and has been active in the community professionally and civically. Amish, along with his mom and brother, immigrated to the United States from India at the age of 10 after the sudden passing of his father. They settled in Forest Hills, Queens, and his mother worked tirelessly to provide Amish and his brother an opportunity at the American Dream. Amish witnessed firsthand the sacrifice and dedication of his mother, which laid the foundation for who Amish is today.

Amish is a product of New York City public schools and he attended PS 196, JHS 157, and Forest Hills High School, before graduating from Queens College and attaining a Bachelor’s Degree, with a dual major in Mathematics and Accounting. Amish's journey took him to law school where he graduated from New York Law School, which he attended in the evenings, while he worked full-time during the day as an Auditor to help pay for law school.

Public service has been Amish’s north star and that led him to work at the New York State Attorney General’s office, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, and prior to that, he worked briefly at the Port Authority of NY & NJ, as a Financial Analyst. During his tenure at the Attorney General’s office, he worked as an Auditor for more than 6 years by auditing the books and records of medical providers receiving reimbursement from the NYS Medicaid Program, and assisted in the investigation and prosecution of those providers suspected of Medicaid Fraud.  This experience provided him with a knowledge and skill set that exposed him to the practical aspect of investigation and prosecution.

After his time at the Attorney General’s office and finally receiving his law degree, Amish worked as a lawyer at three different law firms, and eventually became a small business owner by opening his own law firm in 2011. During his tenure as an attorney, Amish has presented oral arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, Appellate Division - Second Department, and various state and federal courts around New York.

Amish journey to running for Queens County Civil Court is the epitome of the story of Queens. From being raised by a single mother who immigrated to the United States from India to working his way through law school, Amish represents the struggle faced by the residents of Queens. His work experience and commitment to his community positions him as the most qualified candidate.
